Every year, when the azaleas bloom, Pickens throws a two-day festival on the last weekend of April. It starts with a cruise-in on Friday evening, and on Saturday artisans, crafters, food vendors and musicians fill the downtown streets.
The festival's website has to work for two crowds: the families planning their visit and the vendors applying for a spot.
